Autumn seems to have crept up on us earlier than usual this year! Instead of hot humid nights, the evenings are thankfully definitely a little cooler but daytime temperatures remain high...in the upper 20s, 30s and even in the scorching 40s in the bush on the odd days.

Ella was hugely fortunate to see her very first ANTBEAR (AARDVARK) (Orycteropus afar) and during the day! This was a really special treat as they are generally extremely shy and almost exclusively nocturnal.

And it's the only SA reserve where guests are transported to their luxury tented camp by boat.

Sibuya's lions are tranquilized and prepped for transmitter replacement surgery. The surgery lasts approximately 20 minutes. During the surgery the capture crew gather data and samples for analysis.

A short while ago my guests & I were out on our afternoon game drive & had found a suitable spot for the customary "sun downers". This particular time, one or two of the guests were keen to quench their thirst on gin and tonic ... needless to say, the pleasure being incomplete without a slice of lemon!
